Spring 2015

Announcement: The kids' dad and I made permanent our decision to remain separated and our divorce became final on March 18th. We had been married for a total of just shy of 13 years (March 30th would have been our 13th anniversary) and separated almost 4 years of that time. Of course this was a very difficult time for all of us, but thankfully for the kids our divorce becoming permanent didn't affect them as much as when we first separated. We are all still learning how to navigate our family dynamics but things are going a lot smoother now.

We are having a fun spring despite the cooler rainy weather. All 3 kids are in gymnastics. MJ and Lydia are training for Special Olympics gymnastics division and their meet is coming up in May. They are so excited!

MJ has been taking Saturday prep classes for PASS testing ( I call it The Breakfast club :) ) this spring. She's been having a bit of trouble behaving since it's a different schedule and teachers than she usually has so we've had to help her with finding motivation to work despite the changes. She will be in middle school next year so we've all been trying to get ready for that big change too. She also has made great strides with ABA therapy and in becoming an independent young lady.

Lydia has been home schooled this year and she loves it! She's been making a lot of progress at  home and also in her ABA therapy sessions. She's learned how to buckle herself in the car and stay seated until mom gives her the ok. She's learning how to write her name on her own, count to 20, her personal information such as name, age, etc., how to put letter sounds together to make words using phonics as well as sight words. She's been working very very hard.

Nathan has been working hard in preschool and also at after-school care. He's really blossomed and remembers everyone's name, smiles and compliments everyone, naturally! He's a real people person and will go far in life with keeping these skills! He makes everyone smile where ever he goes!

I've been busy looking for a job for next year, trying to figure out what is best for schooling for next year for all 3 kids, serving in church by doing tech for the preschoolers large group sessions, some minor home repairs and keeping up with the kids' schedules of therapy, doctors appointments and school.
